About Dunedin
Daily life, as seen in Dunedin is vibrant, positive and upbeat. Cafés, restaurants and bars compete for space with a fabulous mix of retail outlets, service centres and entertainment venues. Dunedin offers all the facilities one would expect within a modern, thriving city, without the traffic jams and parking problems!
Dunedin boasts a somewhat unique retail offering compared to other main centres in New Zealand, in that retailing is predominately confined to the central business district (rather than the suburban malls as seen in other cities). This retail area radiates outward from the Meridian Shopping Centre with the “Edinburgh Way” and all of its ethnic eateries to the north, and further shopping to the South.
Shopping in Dunedin is relaxed and unhurried, and the city is proud to offer an eclectic blend of national chains and highly individual local stores.
